In 2018, Arsalan Yousuf made a pivotal decision that would redefine his professional journey. Leaving behind a stable corporate career, he joined his wife, Soha Yaseen, in co-founding Sowear, a fashion startup aimed at revolutionizing western wear in Pakistan.
Soha, a textile designer, initiated Sowear during her university days, with the support of her parents. The brand quickly gained traction, resonating with a demographic seeking contemporary fashion infused with local sensibilities. Arsalan’s entry into the venture brought a strategic edge, leveraging his corporate experience to streamline operations and drive growth.
Under their joint leadership, Sowears has evolved into a dynamic enterprise with a dedicated team of 51–200 employees. The brand has expanded its physical presence with outlets in major Pakistani cities, including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, as well as an international store in Sharjah, UAE.
The collaborative family effort has been instrumental in Sowear’s success. The brand prides itself on being a woman-run business, fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment. Their commitment extends beyond fashion, aiming to inspire and uplift communities through their work.
Arsalan‘s transition from the corporate world to entrepreneurship exemplifies the impact of aligning personal values with professional endeavors. His journey with Sowears underscores the potential of collaborative ventures rooted in shared vision and mutual respect.
As Sowears continues to flourish, it stands as a testament to the power of passion-driven entrepreneurship and the transformative effect of believing in a shared dream.
